Corberan grateful to West Brom and Leeds United as focus turns to Real Madrid
Carlos Corberan shared his gratefulness for the experiences he had in England with West Brom and Leeds United as he made a return to his home country to manage Valencia.
The life of the Spaniard was turned around and flipped upside down in the space of 24 hours as the team he supports asked him to become their coach and to try and save their season.
While a new manager hasn’t yet been sourced by the Baggies, the hunt is already underway with several names mooted to take on The Hawthorns job.
Speaking to the Spanish media in quotes relayed by Relevo (28 December) as he gears up to face Real Madrid, when he was asked about his time with both the Baggies and the Whites, the 41-year-old said the following: “Every experience leaves its mark on you as a coach and gives you lessons that you try to apply.
“Each context is different, but the sum of the experiences that you have in your baggage is what you use to face new situations.”
West Brom will miss Carlos Corberan now he’s exited The Hawthorns
Although the Baggies have had their fair share of draws this season, it’s undeniable that Corberan made the Black Country club better upon his arrival.
The fact they made it to the playoffs last year is a testament to how good of a job the Spaniard did and, no matter who comes in to replace him, they’ll have a lot of making up to do to get on the same level that Corberan did with the fans.
As aforementioned, at the moment, a fair few names are being linked with the hot seat.
Although nothing is yet set in stone, it feels like a decision on a new manager from Shilen Patel is edging closer each day.

However, until that day comes, the Baggies need to focus on their performance in the league and try to get a few wins under their belt to try and make their way back up towards the top end of the table.
Of course, only time will tell what the future has in store but for now, supporters need to simply trust the club will get this next decision spot on, as they did with Corberan’s appointment.
