John Swift axed in three changes – West Brom predicted XI v Sheffield United
John Swift could be one of three changes to the West Brom starting XI in their Championship clash against Sheffield United on Sunday.
The Baggies may also drop Uros Racic as a January exit seems more and more likely [DOOD, 18 December] for the midfielder.
Kyle Bartley is the next in line to possibly be axed as, while he had a decent game against the Rams, the lack of organisation among the defence was one of the reasons West Brom left Pride Park without anything to show for their efforts.
This means that each of Callum Styles, Jayson Molumby and Grady Diangana could make their way back into the starting XI and attempt to get the Black Country outfit back to winning ways.
West Brom to drop John Swift for Championship clash v Sheffield United
As has been the case for most of the season, Alex Palmer is expected to be the man between the sticks and could perhaps find himself key for the Baggies to not concede too many goals against the title challengers.
The backline is set to remain somewhat similar to their defeat against the Rams, with just Styles entering the fold and Torbjorn Heggem likely to move into his more natural role of centre-back, with Mason Holgate and Kyle Bartley to the right of him.
Both Alex Mowatt and Molumby have been in decent form when called upon this term and will no doubt help solidify West Brom’s centre of the pitch as they have done across the season thus far.
Matty Johnstone and Tom Fellows have been two of West Brom’s best players and it would seem silly to see either of them dropped to the bench, which is why they’ve kept their places in the team.

While Grady Diangana may not be a natural number 10, with the performance Swift put in last time out and the other options they have available, the former West Ham United man seems to be their best chance of coming away from Bramall Lane with anything to show for their efforts.
Josh Maja is also set to be the one to lead the line but there’s no denying that fans will want to see a vast improvement on his form over the last few weeks if he’s to keep his role as striker when Karlan Grant is back up to full fitness.
