Mason Holgate injury update shared ahead of West Brom game v Sheffield United
Mason Holgate is a major doubt as West Brom prepare to take on Sheffield United on Sunday, according to the Express & Star.
Albion, still under the interim stewardship of Chris Brunt, head to Bramall Lane for a lunchtime kick-off in the Championship [29 December] looking to bounce back from the Boxing Day defeat at Derby County.
Holgate limped off in the second half with a groin injury at Pride Park having put through his own net, and due to the quick turnaround could see the visit to his former loan side come too soon.

Following a significant portion towards the start of the season in which he barely featured, Holgate emerged in Carlos Corberan’s plans more often from late October onwards.
Now the Spaniard has left for the Valencia post, Holgate is looking to impress whoever the next leader at The Hawthorns may be, but after some discomfort bowed out of the game at Derby.
With the rigorous schedule over the festive period, Brunt is taking charge of more matches than he perhaps would have at a different point of the campaign, and the rapidly approaching trip to Bramall Lane could see Holgate miss out on facing the team he spent a period on loan with earlier this year.
Albion will be sincerely hoping it is only a minor setback for the 28-year-old Jamaican international, who has turned his own season around to become a mainstay in the team.
The Baggies will have to be at their best to overcome a Blades outfit who were beaten by Burnley in their last outing, but whom have shown a ruthless streak as they hunt an immediate promotion.
Elsewhere, in more positive news, Karlan Grant, Callum Styles and Grady Diangana all look to be available.
