West Brom ready to hire Heitinga to take them back to Premier League
John Heitinga has emerged as a frontrunner to take over as West Brom manager, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported on Saturday (28 December) that the 41-year-old could be the “bright thinker” the Baggies want to replace Carlos Corberan.
The former Netherlands international has made a positive impression as a coach at Liverpool under Arne Slot and Albion believes he has the potential to prove himself as a top manager.
Heitinga is seen as the man who can take the B71 club out of the Championship and back into the Premier League.

The Hawthorns hierarchy certainly has a big decision to make when it comes to replacing the former Huddersfield Town boss in the Black Country.
The Spaniard did so much positive work during his spell as manager and it is a bitter blow to lose him at this point of the season.
With that being said, there is a blueprint there for a new head coach to come in and succeed but the right appointment is still required.
Heitinga certainly represents a bold option and could pose a massive risk given his inexperience as a manager.
With just a six-month spell in charge of Ajax’s first team in 2023, the Dutchman has gained experience as a coach with West Ham and Liverpool which may serve him well.
If the ex-Everton defender is to land the job it will be interesting to see how the Baggies line up and if promotion is a realistic goal that can be achieved.
