West Brom player ratings in 1-1 draw v Sheffield United
West Brom fought back to earn a 1-1 draw at high-flying Sheffield United in their last game of 2024 on Sunday.
The Baggies went behind after 23 minutes to Andre Brooks’ opener at Bramall Lane but Karlan Grant was on hand to get his side level just before the half-time whistle.
Both sides had chances to score again in the second half but Albion put in a solid performance to ensure they could get a point off one of the league’s top sides.
Here, West Brom News rates the performance of each player out of 10.
Alex Palmer – 6
Made some decent saves at times but unfortunately wasn’t able to keep a clean sheet.
Darnell Furlong – 7
A solid defensive performance from the back four and dealt with any threat from the Blades.
Kyle Bartley – 6
Bartley got stuck into the game and made sure he was on hand to execute his defensive duties to protect his side at the back. Was involved in a couple of flash points with Kieffer Moore.
Torbjorn Heggem – 7
Another good performance with Heggem being where he needed to be and made some good challenges against the opponents.

Callum Styles – 6
A solid performance from Styles who was in the game for the full 90. Executed his defensive duties but was also able to provide some nice passes to push his side forward too.
Tom Fellows – 6 (off for Grady Diangana 71′)
Fellows was good with the ball for the 70 minutes he was on the pitch but struggled to do too much with it to help his side’s attacking efforts.
Ousmane Diakite made up for his mistake
Ousmane Diakite – 4 (off for John Swift 80′)
Was guilty of a poor touch that allowed the Blades to ultimately take the lead and struggled to get up to the pace of the game in the first half. Was better after the break but did little to show he should come into the team regularly.

Jayson Molumby – 6
Covered plenty of the pitch in the game but failed to have too much of an impact throughout the 90 minutes he played.
Mikey Johnston – 6 (off for Devante Cole 71′)
A similar story to some of his teammates, Johnston failed to create much when he had the ball but nevertheless, a solid performance before he was taken off.
Karlan Grant – 7 (off for Jed Wallace 65′)
Having just come back into the side, Grant wasn’t on the pitch for too much of the game but while he was he showed a good version of himself and scored a neat goal to get his side level just before the half-time break.
Josh Maja couldn’t get into the game
Josh Maja – 6 (off for Lewis Dobbin 80′)
Maja’s lack of goals in December continued with an uninspiring performance from the forward against the Blades which led to his substitution with 10 minutes to go.
Substitutions
Jed Wallace – 6 (on for Karlan Grant 65′)
Didn’t do too much since coming on for Grant but certainly didn’t make his side any weaker.
Devante Cole – 5 (on for Mikey Johnston 71′)
Had a minimal amount of the ball in the 20 minutes he was on and didn’t make too much of an impact from the bench.
Grady Diangana – 6 (on for Tom Fellows 71′)
Managed to get stuck into the game a bit more but didn’t have any real impact on the final 20 minutes of play.
John Swift – N/A (on for Ousmane Diakite 80′)
Lewis Dobbin – N/A (on for Josh Maja 80′)
