Andrew Nestor reacts to West Brom away end scenes v Sheffield United
Andrew Nestor has said the West Brom away end support against Sheffield United in their Championship clash on Sunday was “excellent”.
The two sides ended the game level at 1-1 with both sides putting in an industrious effort across the board.
West Brom sit eighth in the Championship table after the point they earned from Bramall Lane on 29 December and are just one point away from the top-six spots.
Writing via his personal X account (29 December), sporting director Nestor shared his gratitude to the fans who made the journey to South Yorkshire.
“Great effort all round with little recovery time,” he wrote. “The team came with a positive approach against a strong opponent and deserved at least the point.
“Again, our away support was excellent – thank you.”

Although things haven’t yet capitulated without a permanent manager at the helm after Calros Corberan’s exit earlier in the week, it feels like the Baggies could still do with some direction.
During his time with the club, the Spaniard proved his worth and developed a real attachment with the fanbase and ensured that his team played a specific way of football to the best of their ability.
What Shilen Patel now needs to do is find another manager with a similar sort of vision who can encourage a squad as well as the former Huddersfield Town boss did during his stint at the Hawthorns.
Of course, many names have already been linked with the role and fans will no doubt be eagerly waiting to see who’s appointed.
However, it’s a decision that shouldn’t be rushed because whoever comes in will need to be on top form almost instantly in order to increase the Baggies’ chances of finishing in a top-six spot by the end of the campaign.
