West Brom get Williams answer as Swansea boss speaks out on managerial switch
Luke Williams has suggested that he is happy to stay put at Swansea City after being linked with the managerial vacancy at West Brom.
After the departure of Carlos Corberan to Valencia, the Baggies are in the process of recruiting a new boss and the current Swans manager is one name that has been mentioned [DOOD].
Chris Brunt guided Albion to a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United on Sunday (29 December), but the hierarchy at The Hawthorns will be keen to get a permanent replacement in the door as soon as possible.
That being said, Williams may not be the man to fill that hole as, when asked about the links, he said to Wales Online [29 December]: “They can phone my agent and leave me to do my job here.
“That’s the reason for having the agent!”
Williams went on to add: “I’m not interested in that for the time being. I’m hoping we’re in the middle of something. Let’s continue to try and build that.”
Luke Williams may not be the man for West Brom
It’s a hard job to succeed Corberan after the impressive job he did during his time with West Brom which made him a popular figure in the Black Country, leaving many disappointed at his departure from the club.
Therefore, the Baggies owners know they need to get this appointment right as they look for the side to finish in the play-offs as they hope for promotion back to the Premier League to push the club forward.
Williams would certainly be an ambitious appointment as they would have to take him from a Swansea side who have similar ambitions to the Baggies this season.
Albion are willing to pay compensation in order to get the right person through the door, which may give them a boost in their hunt for a new manager, but the current Swans boss does not seem interested.

It does sound as though the 43-year-old is content in his current role and eager to carry on the project he has started with Swansea as they look to climb from ninth in the table.
In that case, Albion do not need to waste any more time with this one.
