West Brom transfers: Carlos Corberan plan remains in place for January
West Brom are looking to shore up their defence in the January transfer window like Carlos Corberan planned, according to the Express & Star.
Corberan hinted at the possibility of making defensive reinforcements before making the switch to Valencia and the newspaper reports (31 December) that there are no changes to that plan.
Although Ian Pearce is overseeing player recruitment ahead of January, the Baggies could opt to recall Caleb Taylor from his loan at Wycombe Wanderers instead of bringing in a new player.
West Brom could recall Caleb Taylor from Wycombe Wanderers
It is unclear if West Brom inserted an option to recall when they sent Taylor on loan to Wycombe in the summer.
They could look to negotiate a fresh agreement with the League One club if that is not the case.
The centre-back headed out on loan towards the end of the summer transfer window and captained the Baggies’ in their 2-1 EFL Cup loss against Fleetwood Town before leaving.
He has hit the ground running at Wycombe, making 19 appearances across all competitions so far.
The 21-year-old has started in each of the Chairboys’ last 17 league games, helping them keep seven clean sheets and scoring once.

There is no doubt that West Brom will be delighted with Taylor’s progress in Buckinghamshire.
However, with Paddy McNair’s loan deal expiring on 31 December and Semi Ajayi still sidelined with an injury, the West Midlands outfit may be forced to end his stint with Wycombe and bring him back to the fold.
