West Brom and Swansea agree as Luke Williams saga nears end

West Brom will have an answer regarding their pursuit of Luke Williams before they play Swansea on Saturday, according to DOOD.

The reliable Baggies insider reported via X (2 January) that the West Midlands outfit and the Swans want the situation resolved as soon as possible to prevent further disruption.

Albion are, therefore, expected to walk away from negotiations if they cannot get it done before their trip to Wales on 4 January.

West Brom expect Luke Williams answer at The Hawthorns soon

The Hawthorns outfit have been without a head coach since Carlos Corberan sealed his move to Valencia on Christmas Eve.

Although West Brom has since managed to pick up four points from a possible nine, they are keen to have a new boss in place as soon as possible.

The Baggies were previously linked with a move for Mark Robins, but he has since been confirmed as the Stoke City manager.

DOOD previously reported that the Shilen Patel-owned club will hold talks with the candidates on their list, including Williams on Thursday (2 January).

It would not be a surprise if Albion’s pursuit of the 44-year-old ended today. Whether they will succeed or not is anybody’s guess as things stand.

West Brom having to lock horns with Swansea in 48 hours complicates things further and it remains to be seen what the outcome of the talks will be.

As things stand, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that interim manager Chris Brunt remains in charge of the team for a fourth game in a row.

In other West Brom news, this former Baggies star could be set for a shock exit at Wolves.
