West Brom schedule two interviews for new manager hire after agent fiasco

West Brom have scheduled two interviews for their vacant manager role after a fiasco with Luke Williams’ agent, according to DOOD.

The Baggies insider took to X (3 January) to reveal that the Swansea manager may not be Albion’s primary target despite talks taking place with his agent.

Williams’ odds of taking over at The Hawthorns have been slashed by Sky Bet with the former Notts County man reduced to 1/4 and becoming the odds-on favourite.

However, it appears this may be premature given the latest update from the Albion expert that two other candidates are set to be interviewed next week.

West Brom need to hire new man quickly

Carlos Corberan stunned Baggies supporters when his departure to Valencia was announced on Christmas Day.

Interim boss Chris Brunt has guided the West Midlands club back into the playoff places with a 3-1 victory over Preston on Wednesday (1 January) after failing to win his first two matches against Derby and Sheffield United.

However, it would be a surprise if the Nothern Irishman was given the role on a permanent basis given his lack of managerial experience.

Shilen Patel is willing to give Brunt time as he seeks to make the right appointment for the Black Country club [DOOD] but that could be counter-productive.

However, Albion need to get an appointment over the line quickly to ensure that their transfer plans are not disrupted and they can continue their push for a playoff berth.

The uncertainty will only serve to make supporters restless and could affect performances on the pitch as a result.
