Mikey Johnston a 4/10 flop, Fellows stars – West Brom player ratings v Swansea
West Brom only managed to add one point to their Championship tally as they drew 1-1 with Swansea in their clash on Saturday.
Tom Fellows finished off a wonderful move in the 66th minute that saw Jayson Molumby run all the way from the halfway line to the edge of the Swans’ box, before teeing up Fellows to coolly slot into the bottom-right corner.
Luke Williams’ men had their fair share of chances throughout the game but, much like West Brom in the first half, they were fairly wasteful in front of goal.
However, in the dying embers of the game, Joe Allen netted from an inch-perfect cross with a glorious header and drew the Welsh side level, earning them a valuable point.
Here, West Brom News rates each player’s performance out of 10
Alex Palmer – 6
Played some really nice forward passes, sometimes all the way to Karlan Grant and Josh Maja, and almost created a couple of the Baggies’ chances. Could have done better with Allen’s goal, though.
Darnell Furlong – 6
Was at the centre of a handball shout in the first half but not much he could have done about it due to the speed of the cross, defensively solid and made a fair few impressive forward passes.
Mason Holgate – 6
Had a decent game, held off from challenging attackers too often and let a couple of chances slip by him because of it, did manage to get in the way of a Liam Cullen strike in the first half which stopped Swansea from going 1-0 up.
Torbjorn Heggem – 5
Wasn’t phased by many of the Swans’ attacks, but should have done better with their goal, formed a solid partnership with Holgate and didn’t allow Cullen to break down the defensive line.
Callum Styles – 5
Put in a good block from a Swansea shot after a corner in the opening 10 minutes of the game, fairly solid performance overall and seems to be getting more comfortable at full-back despite allowing a cross to make it past him and allowing Swansea to level.
Jayson Molumby – 7

A bit of a mixed bag of a performance from the Irishman, gave the ball away one too many times and was often beaten in the battle between himself and Goncalo Franco. However, he did make up for the lost balls thanks to his glorious assist for Fellows.
Ousmane Diakite – 6 (Off For Mowatt, 57′)
Had an odd moment in the opening minute of the game as he picked the ball up while it was still in play and received a yellow card but aside from that, one of the Baggies’ best players in the first half and seemed to win every single ball and tackle.
Jed Wallace – 6 (Off for Tom Fellows, 58′)
Was a positive influence on the attacking side of things, played a few good balls in the opening minutes of the clash and put in a decent shift before being taken off.
Mikey Johnston has a stinker for West Brom
Mikey Johnston – 4 (Off for John Swift, 66′)
Had his best chance of the game at the latter end of the first half, and should have had more of an impact on the clash than he did. A rather disappointing outing for the former Celtic man.
Karlan Grant – 6 (Off for Devante Cole, 81′)
Squandered a couple of chances early in the first half as he let the ball run away from him, not as impactful as he has been in recent weeks.
Josh Maja – 7 (Off for Grady Diangana, 81′)
Yet another impressive outing, constantly on the attack and seemed to have a strong partnership with Wallace on the right before he was taken off, didn’t get a goal but put on a solid enough performance.
Substitutions
Alex Mowatt – 5 (On for Ousmane Diakite, 57′)
Didn’t have much to do when brought on, held down the fort in the centre of the park and added some solidity to the midfield.
Tom Fellows – 8 (On for Jed Wallace, 58′)
Hit a clinical strike that led to West Brom leaving Wales with all three points to their name, proved to Chris Brunt why he deserves a starting role.
John Swift – 6 (On for Michael Johnston, 68′)
Much like Mowatt, had little to do when he was brought on and couldn’t stop Swansea from netting an equaliser.
Grady Diangana – N/A (On for Josh Maja, 81′)
Devante Cole – N/A (On for Karlan Grant, 81′).
