West Brom next manager: Luke Williams appears to wave goodbye at Swansea

Swansea City grabbed a late equaliser as Luke Williams’ side stole a point from West Brom on Saturday.

The Baggies, who are said to have an interest in the 43-year-old [Chris Lepkowski], travelled to face the Welsh side on 4 January and could only manage a 1-1 draw.

Joe Allen scored a late leveller to secure a point for the home side who could soon be without their manager after Steve Harmon spotted him potentially waving goodbye on BBC WM (4 January, 2:22pm).

The Swans boss has been linked with a switch to The Hawthorns in the last week as a potential replacement for Carlos Corberan.

West Brom close to Luke Williams move

A last-minute goal for Swansea scuppered the Baggies who had been ahead for 24 minutes thanks to Tom Fellows’ second-half strike.

The away side arguably deserved all three points but lost out due to what should have been a euphoric moment for the Swans.

Despite this, Williams was spotted after the game walking around the pitch on his own showing his application to the home crowd.

Harmon spotted this on BBC WM, saying, “Luke Williams is currently doing a lap of honour, clapping all corners of the Swansea.com Stadium.”

The Hawthorns has been the home of West Brom since 1900.

This could be looked at as a goodbye to the Welsh club that the former Notts County boss has called home for the last 12 months.

If this proves to be a final application to the SA1 crowd, there is every chance that a move to the Baggies will be on the cards after recent reports.
