West Brom manager update as talks to occur with boss other than Raphael Wicky
Raphael Wicky is set for talks over the managerial position at West Brom but there is also another candidate due for discussions according to talkwba.
Via their X account (5 January), they reported that another manager other than Wicky is expected to undergo talks with the Baggies next week despite the Swiss boss being the odds-on favourite for the role.
West Brom are still searching for Carlos Corberan’s successor following his December departure to Valencia but any appointment still appears to be some time away.
It is reported that West Brom think Wicky would be a “good fit” for the club.
West Brom need managerial resolution
While it is vital that the Baggies get their next appointment right, it also needs to be swift if they are to retain their chances of checking promotion back to the Premier League.
Chris Brunt has done a remarkable job in the circumstances and the Baggies certainly have him to thank for his efforts in keeping them within the promotion race.
Given their position in the league, if they can get this appointment right, promotion will certainly be on the cards although much of that will also hinge on their ability to deal well in the transfer window.

Several key players have been lined with a move away and keeping them at The Hawthorns will prove crucial to their hopes of success while incoming will be just as important.
If West Brom can be successful in their bid to achieve both of those this January, it could be ane citing second half of the season.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies want to sign this Rangers star.
