Steve Cooper appointment: ‘Attractive’ West Brom proposal mooted
West Brom will need to present an “attractive” proposal to appoint Steve Cooper as their new manager, according to Don Goodman.
The Sky Sports pundit believes the Baggies will need more than money to convince the Welshman to succeed Carlos Corberan, who left for Valencia during the festive period.
Cooper is seen as an obvious choice for The Albion but will supposedly need guarantees regarding their promotion prospects.
Speaking to Plejmo via Football League World (8 January), Goodman said: “Steve Cooper is an obvious choice for me and he’s out of work.
“To get him, however, they’d have to make it an attractive proposition, and I don’t mean in terms of what he’ll be paid but whether he can be convinced that Albion can challenge for promotion. There are lots of unknowns and lots of variables.”
Steve Cooper has managerial experience West Brom need
Cooper has made his way through the ranks in the English coaching system, managing the Three Lions’ youth teams before taking over at Swansea.
Subsequently, the 45-year-old moved to Nottingham Forest, leading them from the bottom of the Championship to the Premier League.
While the Welsh national has struggled a bit in the last few months, being sacked by Leicester, he’s still evidently one of the best people to take over at The Hawthorns.
West Brom are fighting for a play-off spot as things stand, with Corberan leaving the team in a decent position before departing.

Chris Brunt has had a mixed record as interim head coach, but the Northern Irishman seems to be doing all he can to keep The Albion in and around the top six.
Shilen Patel and Andrew Nestor need to make the right decision regarding the next manager, as the person will be tasked with fulfilling hopes of getting back into the English top flight.
Cooper has the experience of winning promotion to the Premier League, making his appointment a possible no-brainer.
In other West Brom news, supporters have had their say as Urs Fischer is being linked with the managerial vacancy.
