Hull make approach to sign West Brom winger Wallace
Hull City have made an approach to sign Jed Wallace from West Brom during the January transfer window, according to DOOD.
The anonymous Baggies insider reported via X (12 January) that the Tigers made an enquiry about Wallace’s services although it has now gone quiet.
Furthermore, the winger is attracting interest from other Championship clubs this month, including Portsmouth.
Jed Wallace could exit West Brom
Although he has made 20 Championship appearances for Albion this term, only three of those have been in the starting line-up and Wallace has had to settle for a place as a substitute in the side this season.
With Tom Fellows finding his feet in the Baggies team, the 30-year-old has seen his minutes limited and as one of the club’s highest earners, it makes sense to offload the player if the offers are there.
Although the club captain would be somewhat of a loss given his experience could be valuable for a side that are chasing a play-off position this season, the benefits of this could surely outweigh the negatives.
Furthermore, with sides like Hull and Portsmouth the interested parties, Wallace would potentially be moving to a side fighting relegation from the Championship this term, meaning he could certainly prove to be a more vital part of their side than he is currently experiencing in the Black County.
