Tony Mowbray set for ‘final all-clear’ with health issues after West Brom talks

Tony Mowbray is due to be given the final all-clear from health issues after talks with West Brom, according to the Sun on Sunday.

The 61-year-old could be set for a return to The Hawthorns after holding talks on two occasions after making himself available for work.

The Baggies could question when the ex-Sunderland boss could come in as head coach if chosen ahead of the likes of Raphael Wicky.

A complete and final all-clear is due in the next two weeks after dealing with health issues which could have an impact on his availability for the Albion.

Tony Mowbray in West Brom manager talks

The former Baggies boss would certainly prove to be a popular choice for the vacant manager role given his prior links to B71.

Despite a recent absence due to health troubles, Mowbray’s record in his second most recent job at the Stadium of Light was superb.

The Englishman took the recently promoted side to the Championship playoffs and only narrowly missed out on a place in the Premier League.

The ex-Celtic boss was able to get the best out of star names like Amad Diallo and proved that he is still capable of being a top boss in the second tier.

With that being said, there is no reason why he can’t be a serious contender to become the manager of the Albion as a replacement for Carlos Corberan.

This deal may ultimately come too quickly for the 61-year-old but there is no harm in The Hawthorns hierarchy holding talks with him regardless.
