West Brom manager news: Shock Erik ten Hag twist emerges
West Brom are eyeing a new manager and the odds have been slashed on former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
At the start of January, Bet Victor had placed odds of 33/1 for the Dutchman to succeed Carlos Corberan.
However, they have now reduced it to 16/1 with Raphael Wicky out of the running to be the next Baggies manager. [DOOD]
Erik ten Hag is unlikely to reach an agreement with West Brom
Odds being slashed on ten Hag’s move to the Hawthorns may actually not mean too much.
After being one of Europe’s most in-demand managers, despite the rather underwhelming stint at Old Trafford, he is not likely to settle for a job in the second tier of English football.
Had the Baggies been in the Premier League and had aspirations of becoming a side finishing in European spots every year, then they could’ve tried an approach.
However, he will hold out for a job in one of Europe’s top five leagues or return to Ajax if they open the door for him.
What the Baggies could do is turn to one of Europe’s lesser leagues and look at the young and progressive managers there willing to take the step up.

They could pick up from where Corberan left off and ensure that the Baggies get promoted this season itself as it’s very much there for the taking.
In other West Brom news, an update has emerged on Tony Mowbray taking over the reins at the Hawthorns.
