West Brom fans furious after ‘desperate’ Tony Mowbray update

West Brom supporters are furious after it was claimed that Tony Mowbray could return to The Hawthorns as soon as possible.

Talkwba reported on X that the Baggies are expected to begin talks with their former boss to replace Carlos Corberan who departed for Valencia.

The Albion have already failed to agree terms with Rene Hake and Raphael Wicky in the last week but look to be making progress in their search.

However, fans have urged the Black Country club to move on from the past and not appoint the 61-year-old for a second time.

The move has been criticised by supporters, with one fan accusing the club of taking “a serious backwards step” on social media.

Another commented that it is like spending the transfer window looking at “up-and-coming strikers only to sign Dwight Gayle on deadline day.”

The Baggies have to get their managerial situation resolved as soon as possible, given that we are into the third week of the winter transfer window.

Signings are vital if they want to continue their push for the playoffs but the lack of a manager at the helm is a severe hindrance when it comes to transfers, as Don Goodman exclusively suggested to West Brom News.

Mowbray’s previous stint at Albion was successful, he got the club promoted to the Premier League by winning the Championship title in the 2007-08 season but he is just returning from serious health issues which forced him to leave his role at Birmingham in February.

However, he plays an attractive brand of football and knows what it takes to get promoted from the second tier, so it could be a solid appointment if the Baggies can make it happen.

In other West Brom news, a former Albion star may be allowed to leave a Championship rival just five months after signing for them.
