West Brom to sign Premier League striker, medical finishing now

West Brom are set to sign Ali Al-Hamadi on loan from Ipswich Town, according to West Brom Xtra.

The Baggies insider reported via X on 21 January that the Ipswich Town striker is already at Albion‘s training ground for a medical.

Al-Hamadi will spend the rest of the season at The Hawthorns, with DOOD also confirming the imminent transfer.

Tony Mowbray adds Ali Al-Hamadi firepower to West Brom

West Brom’s interest in Al-Hamadi is not new as they were interested in roping him in from Ipswich towards the end of the summer transfer window.

They even made an enquiry about signing the Iraq international in the final days of the window [DOOD] and it appears a transfer is finally coming to fruition.

The 22-year-old has found playing time hard to come by at Ipswich this season, amassing just 125 minutes of Premier League action.

He will now be hopeful of getting his career back on track with Albion, who are competing for promotion in the Championship this term.

Tony Mowbray’s side are not short of options up front, with Josh Maja and Karlan Grant among those in the squad.

However, it seems the West Midlands outfit have quickly decided to bring Al-Hamadi in with Maja now expected to be sidelined for an extended period of time due to an injury.

In other West Brom news, Richard Keys is thrilled to see Mowbray back in the dugout at Albion.
