West Brom ready shock swoop for Chelsea striker

West Brom are interested in signing Marc Guiu on loan from Chelsea, according to DOOD.

The Baggies insider reported via his personal X account (28 January) that Albion enquired about the Spaniard’s availability a few days ago, but face competition from other clubs.

Tony Mowbray’s side are also keeping tabs on Jayden Danns’ situation at Liverpool as they look to sign a new centre-forward in the final days of the winter transfer window.

West Brom to sign Marc Guiu from Chelsea?

Guiu joined Chelsea from Barcelona for £5million ahead of the 2024-25 season [Evening Standard], but has largely remained on the fringes at Stamford Bridge.

The 19-year-old has been restricted to just two appearances in the Premier League so far, meaning a late loan switch could be on the cards for him.

Guiu has strived to impress whenever he has started for the Blues, scoring a hat-trick in their 5-1 UEFA Conference League victory over Shamrock Rovers in December.

It has been known for a while that West Brom are keen to add a new striker to their ranks before the transfer window closes on 3 February.

It seems Albion remain determined to sign a centre-forward from the Premier League, with Guiu and Danns being the latest players linked with a move to The Hawthorns.
