Grady Diangana has agreed to leave West Brom for Celta Vigo in the winter transfer window, according to Africa Foot.

The African news outlet reported on Tuesday (28 January) that close friends of the forward revealed he has already reached an agreement in principle to join the LaLiga outfit before 3 February.

Although Diangana was expected to leave The Hawthorns for a London-based club [DOOD], Celta Vigo have been monitoring the situation and are now prepared to make a move as he enters the final months of his contract.

Celta Vigo chiefs are said to be locked in ongoing talks with their West Brom counterparts, who are holding out for around £2.6million.

Grady Diangana to leave West Brom for Celta Vigo

In November, Spanish news outlet Super Deporte reported that Celta Vigo were preparing a £16m offer for Josh Maja, and now they have turned their attention to another West Brom attacker.

Of course, the Nigerian is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, which could explain the change of stance in Spain. Still, the Baggies faithful would much rather Diangana leave than Maja if a choice of the two.

Diangana has struggled for consistency West Midlands this season, although he did bag a brace of goals and assists in a statement performance under Tony Mowbray during the 5-1 win against Portsmouth on Saturday (25 January).

Those efforts appear to be merely a parting gift.

West Brom

Although an exit now, past the midway point of the campaign with Premier League promotion still a realistic possibility, may be premature, West Brom are powerless should Diangana indicate he does not intend to sign a new deal.

Therefore, negotiating a minimal fee with Celta Vigo is the logical next step for Mowbray's men, who can hopefully take the funds and explore the transfer market in the final days.
