West Brom are working with Sassuolo to terminate the loan of Uros Racic, according to Luca Bendoni.

The transfer journalist said via X (31 January) that the 26-year-old's camp are now working on "new solutions" as the possibility of ending his loan looms.

Baggies insider Dood replied to say Racic has already found a new club, with Bendoni writing back: "Not yet mate, but it's the most likely scenario."

Racic has been a flop at West Brom

It is little surprise to see that Racic is now likely to depart The Hawthorns prematurely having largely flopped in an Albion shirt.

The defensive midfielder, signed by Tony Mowbray's predecessor Carlos Corberan, has 21 Championship appearances to his name this term, nine as a starter.

Terminating his loan might just free up a bit of money to make some late additions to the squad before the winter transfer window slams shut on Monday (3 February).

The Baggies are reportedly in the hunt for a new striker given the injury sustained by Josh Maja and a bit more firepower would come in handy as they look to maintain their place in the play-offs.

There will be few tears shed if Racic does return to Italy earlier than planned and it looks as though the only thing to sort out is where his next destination will be.

But with a few days left in the window, it is hard to imagine he will still on loan with the Baggies by the close of business on Monday.
