West Brom want to sign Tottenham attacker on loan
West Brom are interested in signing Will Lankshear on loan from Tottenham, according to Alasdair Gold.
The Football London Tottenham correspondent reported via X (30 January) that the Baggies are among a number of Championship sides including Burnley and Middlesbrough who are interested in the 19-year-old.
There are a number of foreign clubs also interested in a loan deal but Spurs are said to be more keen on him staying in England and playing in the second tier.
Tony Mowbray looking at final West Brom additions
With the time left in the winter transfer window ticking away, there is a sense of urgency for Tony Mowbray to make the final additions to his Albion side for the remainder of the campaign.
With Josh Maja set for a period on the sidelines, it has been no secret that the Baggies need to look at bringing in a centre forward who can help in filling the gap left by the absence of their top scorer.
It could be seen as a bit of a risky move going for a teenager with a lack of experience in terms of first-team football but given the youngster has three Premier Leauge appearances under his belt so far this term, it’s clear his parent club see that there is talent in there to be unleashed.
As well as this, Lankshear has scored one goal from three Europa League appearances this term as well as one in one in the EFL Trophy suggesting that a run of first-team minutes could be highly beneficial for his development as well as serving his potential loan side too.
