Karlan Grant ‘transfer request claim’ made after West Brom loss v Plymouth
West Brom star Karlan Grant has not handed in a transfer request, according to DOOD.
Rumours circulated on X after the loss 2-1 to Plymouth that the Englishman was seeking a move away from the club.
However, the Baggies insider reported in a post on X on Saturday (1 February) that while the 27-year-old wants to play regularly, he has not requested to leave The Hawthorns.
Tony Mowbray has preferred to play Grady Diangana upfront so Grant has been forced to settle for a place on the bench in Albion’s last two Championship matches.
Karlan Grant still has a part to play at West Brom
The Baggies sit sixth in the second tier, occupying the final playoff spot but Middlesbrough could overtake them with a victory against Sunderland (3 February).
Grant has notched six goals and two assists in 29 appearances in the Championship so far this season and will play a part in their playoff push.
With Josh Maja out of action, he would have expected to have secured a starting berth but has fallen behind Diangana in the pecking order under Mowbray.

The former West Ham man has experienced a revival under the new manager, notching five goal contributions in his last four matches for the Baggies.
Grant just needs to bide his time, opportunities will come his way and he must take them when he is given the chance.
If he does not feel confident he can earn his starting place back then that is his problem, not Mowbray or the Black Country club’s issue.
