Palmer passes medical, West Brom exit all but done as Ipswich terms revealed

Alex Palmer has passed his medical at Ipswich Town ahead of a move from West Brom, according to Stuart Watson.

The football writer reported on 3 February that the goalkeeper should be set to announce his departure from The Hawthorns on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The Tractor Boys are confident that a deal for the 28-year-old will be confirmed ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline on Monday (3 February).

Alex Palmer passes Ipswich Town medical before West Brom exit

It appears that the Baggies are set to be dealt a huge blow before the winter window slams closed by losing their number-one keeper.

Palmer has been consistently excellent for Albion since becoming the number-one at The Hawthorns so it doesn’t come as a surprise that he has attracted Premier League interest.

With that being said, it is frustrating that this move looks set to go through so close to the transfer deadline, leaving little time to find a replacement.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Tony Mowbray deals with this departure once it eventually goes through at Portman Road.
