West Brom agree record new bombshell transfer, contract signing in Madrid

West Brom have struck a deal to sign Tammer Bany from Randers for £3.35million, according to Tipsbladet.

Farzam Abolhosseini reported via the Danish football magazine’s website that the forward is already undergoing a medical in Madrid ahead of signing a contract with the Baggies.

The fee will make Bany, who has been heavily sought-after this window, the biggest transfer sale in Brondby’s history, leapfrogging Filip Bundgaard’s £2.5m switch to Brondby in 2023.

West Brom set for busy end to window

West Brom entered the winter transfer window looking to sign a new centre-forward and a central midfielder.

The West Midlands outfit completed those objectives when they signed Will Lankshear on loan from Tottenham and Isaac Price on a permanent deal from Standard Liege.

Tony Mowbray’s side will make at least one more addition to their squad before the window closes at 11 pm on Monday, 3 February, in the shape of Bany.

The Palestinian-Dane striker only joined Rangers in February last year and has since bagged two goals and six assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.

He has spent the most amount of time playing as a centre-forward for the Danish club, but is also comfortable operating as an advanced midfielder.

Steve Hermon notably reported on Monday that the Baggies are looking to sign an attacking midfielder on deadline day and it seems Bany is that player.

Meanwhile, Alex Palmer is set to join Ipswich Town in a £5m deal [Lewis Cox], although Sky Sports claim the fee to be £2m.
