West Brom medical almost passed: Mowbray on verge of deadline-busting deal

West Brom are close to completing the signing of Tammer Bany with the forward almost complete with a medical, according to Farzam Abelhosseini.

The Danish football correspondent (3 February) posted on X to reveal medical checks, taking place in Madrid, are nearly complete with hours remaining of the transfer window, which would see Bany boost Tony Mowbray’s attack.

Bany, 21, has six goal contributions in the Danish Superliga this season and will be expected to complete his move to The Hawthorns for a fee of around £3.35million.

Abelhosseini shared in response to a supporter enquiring about the progress of the deal: “Medical going well. Almost done.”

West Brom adding to forward line with Bany deal

While many of a West Brom persuasion will not yet have seen Bany in action, the young forward gives a welcome attacking boost to Mowbray’s side.

The new manager of the Albion has already expressed his desire to sign youngsters and give them the freedom to express themselves, as has been the case early on in the Baggies career of Isaac Price.

Josh Maja’s injury and Daryl Dike’s long absence – which will hopefully see him back to full match fitness soon – have increased the need for attacking reinforcements for a side who are looking to tilt draws into wins this season.

West Brom currently sit sixth in the Championship table, though this could change on Monday night (3 February) as Middlesbrough’s match with Sunderland coincides with the transfer deadline.

Albion will have one eye on proceedings on Teesside, though will be full steam ahead as the hours and minutes tick down towards completing their squad arrangement for the months ahead.

In other West Brom news, Karlan Grant’s name has been touted about on Deadline Day.
