Adam Armstrong joins West Brom as EFL finally sign off on transfer

Adam Armstrong’s transfer to West Brom from Southampton has been signed off, according to Jack Rosser.

The Sun reporter wrote via X on Tuesday (4 February) that the EFL had finally signed off on the loan deal after late confusion in the transfer saga [via DOOD, 4 February].

Armstrong will move to The Hawthorns until the end of the season as the Baggies finally receive EFL clearance.

This might be one of the latest confirmed transfers from a winter window.

It has now been more than 11 hours since the winter transfer window officially slammed shut in England, yet Armstrong’s loan move from Southampton to West Brom is still yet to be officially confirmed by the clubs.

However, Dosser’s update on the situation is as good as a confirmation, and it should now just be a matter of hours until pictures are released of Armstrong holding the club’s shirt.

While it is late in the day, as the old saying goes, better late than never, and Tony Mowbray will just be delighted that he has finally landed his man. Bringing in a player with Premier League experience is a great move, and fans at The Hawthorns will hope it provides the Baggies the boost they need in the race for promotion.

Therefore, although not officially confirmed, it looks as though fans can begin to get excited.
