Tammer Bany set for massive wage increase after West Brom transfer

West Brom will pay Tammer Bany at least 19 times his current wage after he signed from Randers FC on Deadline Day, according to Tipsbladet.

The Danish outlet reported on 4 February that after the 21-year-old attacker signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Baggies, he’s set to earn a salary levels above his previous deal at Randers.

Bany will go from earning £40,150 a year to roughly £764,300 at The Hawthorns on an annual basis, with the potential to rise as high as £1.6million if all conditions in his contract are met.

Albion paid Randers £3.35m to sign Bany on Deadline Day with numerous add-ons included in the deal for the Dane [DOOD, 3 February], with the forward having undergone a medical in Spain.

Tammer Bany transfer can be a hit at West Brom

Any move completed so late in a transfer window has a fair weight of both risk and reward behind it, but given the Baggies’ dearth of attacking depth heading to the end of the season, Bany could be a hit.

The Dane’s £14,700 weekly wage in the West Midlands may be fairly run-of-the-mill for sides in the Championship nowadays, but the sheer increase for Bany will leave him eager to make an impression.

There are plenty of incentives for him to do just that at The Hawthorns given the deal struck between the two clubs, both financially and with the lure of the Premier League within Albion’s reach.

Bany is by far the headline addition made by the Baggies in the winter window – for the time being at least – and given Josh Maja’s absence through injury, there’ll be hope he can hit the ground running.

This transfer represents a transformational change for Bany’s career, and if he can prove to be a success at the Hawthorns, his wage hike and hefty transfer fee will both prove to be good value.

In other West Brom news, Tony Mowbray’s influence is playing a role as Albion continue to pursue one player after the deadline.
