Daryl Dike fitness update ahead of West Brom v Sheffield Wednesday

Daryl Dike is raring to go as he nears a return for West Brom, according to DOOD.

The West Brom insider shared via X (6 February) that the striker is ready to go and is hopeful of being involved in the Baggies squad as soon as possible.

However, the medical team at The Hawthorns are playing it safe to ensure Dike is not rushed back from his injury too soon.

Daryl Dike nearing West Brom return

The 24-year-old has had some real struggles over the past year and hasn’t featured for the Baggies since 10 February 2024 when he ruptured his Achilles tendon.

Dike has scored 16 goals in 48 Championship appearances so if he can get back to full fitness, this will no doubt be a big boost for the Baggies who look ahead to a top-six finish this season.

Furthermore, with Josh Maja currently sidelined through injury himself, having attacking reinforcements in the side will certainly be welcome news for Tony Mowbray.

That being said, the medical team at Albion are definitely doing the right thing by playing it cautiously with Dike’s return as after so long, the last thing anything wants is for a rushing recovery to set back his long-term progress.

Nevertheless, this is very positive news for the Baggies and the striker will be keen to get back into the squad and show supporters exactly what he can contribute.
