Kyle Bartley caught in ‘Absolutely ridiculous’ incident after West Brom win
West Brom star Kyle Bartley was slammed by Luke Chambers after the 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
The Baggies secured a dramatic late victory on 8 February with a 96th-minute Jayson Molumby strike but the result was overshadowed by a scuffle after the final whistle.
Bartley returned to the side in the absence of Mason Holgate but was handed a red card for his involvement in the chaotic post-match scenes at The Hawthorns.
Albion moved up to fifth place in the Championship with a great result but it was clouded by the 33-year-old’s actions and subsequent punishment.
Bartley slammed for ‘ridiculous’ behaviour following West Brom win
Luke Chambers slammed the veteran for his actions following the full-time whistle, claiming that he should not get involved in the scenes.
Speaking on Sky Sports (14:36), Chambers said: “It’s absolutely ridiculous behaviour from Bartley, a player with so much experience and leading the team.
“He can argue all he likes, the referee and his team have seen it and yeah, he misses the next three.”

West Brom set for Kyle Bartley extended ban
The Albion star should know better than to get involved in a fracas after the full-time whistle given his experience as Chambers highlighted.
It is not the first time that Bartley has been involved in a controversial incident after he pushed Preston star Emil Riis over the advertising hoardings on New Year’s Day, which led to ex-FIFA referee Keith Hackett claiming he could receive an extended ban.
Emotions were running high after a dramatic late winner but now he finds himself suspended for the Baggies’ next three matches after returning to captain the hosts in the contest.
The veteran will miss the Black Country club’s second-tier games against Blackburn Rovers, Millwall, and Oxford United if his red card is not rescinded.
It is unlikely to be turned over even if the Baggies appeal given the nature of the scenes in the West Midlands and the fact that Bartley lead with his arm.
He may even face an extended ban if it is deemed to have been too excessive which would be a major blow for the West Midlands club.
The former Leeds United man missed the last five matches before the clash with Wednesday but has been vital for the Baggies in this campaign, starting 19 matches in the league.
Tony Mowbray will hope that the dismissal does not affect his side’s playoff push too much but it could with the likes of Semi Ajayi and Mason Holgate missing Saturday’s win.
