Joe Wildsmith axed in three Mowbray changes – West Brom predicted XI v Millwall

Tony Mowbray could make three changes when his West Brom side travel to face Millwall on Saturday.

The Baggies will be keen to bounce back at The Den after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday (12 February).

Albion fell to a loss thanks to a Mahktar Gueye brace after the striker controversially avoided a red card earlier in the clash at The Hawthorns.

Returning to Championship action three days later is the perfect opportunity to right the wrongs of the defeat in B71 with three changes potentially in the pipeline.

Joe Wildsmith to face West Brom axe v Millwall

The defeat against Rovers was disappointing and, as a result, Mowbray may make a change in goal. This could see Joe Wildsmith drop out for Josh Griffiths who could start for the first time since returning from Bristol Rovers after Alex Palmer was sold to Ipswich.

The back four ahead of the 23-year-old could be set to remain the same due to the injury and suspension issues at The Hawthorns.

This could see Callum Styles and Darnell Furlong once again line up either side of Torbjorn Heggem and Mason Holgate as a back four.

The base of midfield could also have a familiar feel with Alex Mowatt and Jayson Molumby potentially set to start together once again with changes likely ahead of the duo.

Isaac Price could be dropped for West Brom v Millwall

The Baggies struggled going forward against Blackburn, which ultimately resulted in them failing to get on the scoresheet on the night.

As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Mowbray make at least two changes with Isaac Price and Tom Fellows potentially in line to be dropped.

This could see Mikey Johnston remain in the side on the left wing while Grady Diangana returns to the side on the right to complement Will Lankshear.

The Tottenham loanee could be in line to make a first start for Albion after already making two Championship appearances off the bench.

This attacking trio could be in line to play in behind Adam Armstrong who will be hopeful of adding to his tally since signing from on loan Southampton on deadline day.
