Roy Keane fuming after getting lost in backstreets of West Brom this week
Roy Keane was left fuming after he got stuck in the backstreets of West Brom this week.
The former Manchester United man was on punditry duties for ITV for the FA Cup clash between Exeter and Nottingham Forest on 11 February.
The tie ended up going on for the long haul after it went to penalties and ended up in Forest’s favour after they beat the fan-owned club 4-2 on penalties.
However, it was Keane’s journey home through West Brom – presumably after a detour off the M5 – that left him fuming, rather than the game itself.
Why Roy Keane was stuck in West Brom
As the game went over the usual 90 minutes and went all the way to penalties, everyone at the stadium got more than their money’s worth.
After the clash had ended and the League One club unfortunately ended up on the losing side of the game, it meant a long journey back home for Keane who seemingly ran into some problems.
“[There were] roadworks coming back [from Exeter v Nottingham Forest], oh my god, did you go through all that? I was in the backstreets of West Bromwich at about three [in the] morning,” he said on The Overlap Podcast.
“I’m living the dream here, couldn’t even find a McDonald’s.”
West Brom need to get back to their best
While West Brom may only have the Championship to think about after getting knocked out of the FA Cup by Bournemouth on 11 February, it feels like their full focus being on the second tier could be the best thing for the club.
Last season then ended up finishing the season in the top six spots and at the moment, it feels like things are heading that way again.
Tony Mowbray has returned to The Hawthorns and while some fans might not be all that impressed with the form their team have shown since his arrival, he’s not had all that much time with his players just yet.
At the moment, the Baggies are teetering on the edge of the playoff spots with just one point separating them from seventh-placed Coventry.
“I was in the backstreets of West Bromwich at 3am!” 🤣

However, now that players such as Daryl Dike are back, it feels likely that the Black Country club could get back to their best and confirm their place in the top six, which, at the end of the day, is likely all that fans want.
Because, if West Brom can even have a chance of making it back to the Premier League, it’s one that the players should take as quickly as possible.
