Jed Wallace admits he’s frustrated at West Brom as official update emerges
Jed Wallace has admitted his frustration with current life at West Brom in the wake of a major update.
The 30-year-old is the club captain and a huge dressing room influence at The Hawthorns but has been in and out of the side.
Wallace scored his only goal so far this season against former club Portsmouth in a 5-1 home victory on 25 January, but has had vast competition for his position in the squad.
The forward has played 27 times in the Championship this term, but only six of these appearances have been starts – just two of them under former manager Carlos Corberan.
Wallace admits frustration in social media post
Wallace has endured a difficult time at The Hawthorns but has always maintained his positive outlook while being transparent with supporters.
The experienced ace – who sustained a calf injury against ex-employers Millwall on Saturday (15 February) – has taken to social media to cheer on his teammates and motivate the supporters following the 1-1 draw.
Wallace is now ruled out for “several weeks” and has conceded it has been a tough season from a personal perspective.
“Thank you for all the well wishes. Been largely a frustrating season for me but I’ll be supporting [as] best I can over the next few weeks as always,” he posted on his X account (18 February).
“Overall, the lads have been great and we’ve got ourselves to sixth in the league with 13 games to go.
“[We’ve] got a real chance to achieve something this season let’s move forward together in a positive way.”
West Brom will look to return to winning ways with form having been indifferent so far under Tony Mowbray, Wallace continuing to be a calming and beneficial presence in and around the squad.

West Brom skipper could leave in summer
Wallace has found football hard to come by this season whether it be down to form, fitness or simply a wide range of forward options.
He is under contract until the summer of 2026 but could find himself leaving sooner if he wishes to maximise the remaining peak years of his career.
Wallace is a popular player in dressing rooms, an echoing influence alongside managers and could be a massive fit for any club in the Championship, but may not have too long to go at West Brom.
Now an established senior pro and having occupied that category for several years, Wallace has been urged to leave The Hawthorns to begin a fresh chapter, Blackburn Rovers one of the rivals linked in the recent transfer window.
He spoke of his relief at scoring against former club Portsmouth last month, his first of the season, having had a difficult few months on the pitch.
The agile wide man followed that up with an assist for Jayson Molumby in the defeat by Plymouth Argyle, but will now be pushing his teammates from the sidelines.
