West Brom seal shrewd unheard transfer business after new wage developments

Tammer Bany has emerged from nowhere to sign for West Brom in the winter transfer window.

Baggies fans at The Hawthorns can be forgiven for not recognising the former Randers star, who signed on Deadline Day for £3.35million.

Bany has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with West Brom, which has seen his wages increase 19 times what he was earning in Denmark (Tipsbladet).

Dan Plumley has insisted that it’s a brilliant move for the 21-year-old attacker, who signed alongside the likes of Adam Armstrong under Tony Mowbray.

The football finance expert admits that Bany is still unheard of, but could turn out to be a great piece of business if he fulfils his potential in the Championship play-off push.

“It’s a really big move for the player,” he exclusively told West Brom News.

“It’s probably not one that many people have heard of, but if he’s got potential and he is young, that could be a really smart bit of business in the future.

I think generally that West Brom have been active and there is a more positive sense around the club.

We’ve talked about them in the past and how they’re hopefully leaving some of the bad times behind and pushing on, and we know how tight it is in and around that top six.

West Brom putting themselves firmly in the mix there and strengthening, those pieces of business and this one included could be a really shrewd piece of business at the end of the season.”

Tony Mowbray to unleash Tammer Bany at West Brom

Bany is yet to make his debut for the Baggies, but after a rough couple of weeks, that could come soon.

West Brom have dropped to sixth in the Championship after a defeat to Blackburn at The Hawthorns, followed by the 1-1 draw at Millwall last time out.

If the former Randers star can prove his worth between now and the end of the season, nobody will bat an eyelid at that wild wage reveal.
