Shilen Patel reacts as West Brom confirm new appointment

West Brom announced a brand new appointment on Thursday afternoon, with Shilen Patel giving his immediate response.

Appointments have somewhat become the talk of the town at West Brom recently, with many lambasting that of Tony Mowbray as a result of the recent form.

A recent 1-1 draw with Millwall means that West Brom have won just one of their last four Championship encounters with pressure already growing on Mowbray.

The Baggies have made a fresh appointment elsewhere at the club on 20 February, with Patel reacting to the confirmed news.

West Brom Women appoint permanent manager

As confirmed via West Brom, Baggies Women have appointed Siobhan Hodgetts-Still as their first full-time manager.

Hodgetts-Still had previously been known as the Head Coach of the side, but with West Brom looking to transition their Women’s team into a full-time professional one, her role has grown in importance.

This is just the start of the long-term vision applied by the Baggies, with Patel giving his reaction to the appointment via his own personal X account.

“Congratulations to Hodgetts-Still,” said Patel. “This marks a foundational step towards our ambition for the Albion women’s team.”

West Brom Women have a bright future

Plenty of progress has been made by Albion’s Women’s side, with Hodgetts-Still playing a crucial role in the development of the team since it was incorporated by the club last year.

Patel has played just as big of a role in the progression and the signs are very bright for the future of the women’s team.

With the goal of getting them to a full-time capacity, the appointment of Hodgett-Still is a major milestone towards achieving that but there are still plenty of steps to be taken.

The process that West Brom are looking to undertake will take some time but Patel certainly seems to have his priorities in the right place with the view of expanding the net of the club.

Albion Women are not back in action until 9 March, leaving plenty of time for more changes to be implemented and perhaps more importantly, more progress to be made.
