Tony Mowbray to make massive Tammer Bany call ahead of West Brom v Oxford

Tony Mowbray could potentially make a massive call regarding Tammer Bany as West Brom face Oxford United in the Championship.

The Hawthorns will welcome Gary Rowett’s team on Saturday (22 February) as the Baggies look to get back to winning ways.

After being beaten by Blackburn Rovers, The Albion only managed to take a point away from Millwall at the Den on 15 February.

Mowbray’s team signed Bany on Deadline Day, but he’s yet to feature for the Black Country outfit.

Tammer Bany set for West Brom inclusion v Oxford United

Bany could be included in the West Midlands club’s squad against Oxford, Mowbray shared.

As relayed by Joe Chapman on X (20 February), the English manager has been impressed by the Danish national during training sessions.

It could be the first time the 61-year-old head coach opts to involve the 21-year-old forward in a competitive fixture for the Baggies since his move from Randers.

At the Danish outfit this season, Bany was an influential player as he slowly got himself into the starting lineup.

The Hawthorns waiting for Tammer Bany

Adam Armstrong has been pivotal at The Hawthorns since signing on loan from Southampton in the winter transfer window.

The 28-year-old scored on his debut for the Baggies as they beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at home on 8 February.

Bany is still young and has a long way to go in his career, but supporters expect him to have a similar impact at the West Midlands club.

The Black Country outfit are looking to get back into the Premier League as Carlos Corberan left them in a decent position.

While Mowbray undoubtedly has a challenging task on his hands, the Englishman has shown he can bring the best out of the attack under the right circumstances.

The race for the play-offs spots in the Championship is tight as The Albion sit sixth in the table, just one point above Coventry City.

Oxford haven’t been in the best form lately, and the Baggies have a chance to solidify their position in the league with a win.

Whether Bany will play a part in the game at the Den remains to be seen, as Mowbray will undoubtedly look to play his strongest side.
