West Brom PSR update revealed as £34m loss announced
West Brom have posted losses of almost £34million, and what effect that will have regarding profit and sustainability rules (PSR) has been revealed.
The latest accounts from July 2023 to June 2024 disclosed that the Baggies have registered £33.9m in losses over that period.
Bilkul Football’s takeover at The Hawthorns has seen them invest heavily in the West Midlands outfit.
Tony Mowbray will arguably not want PSR to hinder the Albion’s progress as they look to get back into the Premier League.

PSR not a concern after West Brom losses
PSR won’t be a concern despite the almost £34m loss at The Hawthorns, according to Express & Star.
The news outlet reports (27 February) that the Albion aren’t worried about compliance with financial fair play regulations, specifically PSR.
The rules state that a club can only lose £39m across a three-year cycle, but the recent losses aren’t related to PSR in its entirety, with investment in the training ground, academy and women’s team.
West Brom have also sold the likes of Matt Phillips, Nathaniel Chalobah, Erik Pieters, Conor Townsend, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Okay Yokuslu and Alex Palmer, which are not part of the current set of accounts.

The Hawthorns sees progress under Bilkul Football
The Hawthorns have seen progress under Bilkul as they are once again competing for a play-offs spot.
Carlos Corberna took the Baggies to the play-offs semi-finals last season, losing to Southampton, who eventually won promotion to the Premier League.
With the Spanish manager’s exit, Mowbray has his work cut out in the Championship as the race for the top six is heating up in the league.
Championship table (2024/25) | Points |
5. West Brom | 51 |
6. Blackburn Rovers | 51 |
7. Coventry | 50 |
8. Bristol City | 49 |
9. Watford | 48 |
10. Norwich City | 47 |
The Albion are fifth in the table but have a host of clubs on their tails after what has been a mixed set of results under the new manager.
Mowbray won promotion with the Black Country club during his previous stint, and fans will hope for the same this time around.
Bilkul ensured the squad was reinforced in the winter transfer window with the additions of Adam Armstrong and Tammer Bany.
Shilen Patel’s ambitions at The Hawthorns are evident, but whether he can run a tight ship in the coming years remains to be seen.
