West Brom promotion chances shift overnight in new supercomputer prediction

West Brom may have had a bit of a topsy-turvy campaign over the last few weeks but they still remain in contention for promotion to the Premier League.

Darnell Furlong’s headed goal was enough for the Baggies to earn a brilliant point away at league-leading Leeds United last time out.

Mowbray’s appointment has brought a lack of consistency to The Hawthorns, and while there have been games in which the Baggies have played to fairly high standards, there has also been a fair bit of disappointment.

And that is something that will have to be nipped in the bud if they want to earn promotion to the Premier League this term.

At the moment, West Brom are sixth in the Championship table with fifth-placed Coventry just one point ahead of them.

However, seventh-placed Bristol City are hot on their heels with the Robins also having 52 points to their name.

As we enter the final 11 games of the 2024/25 season, the Baggies need to be on top form no matter which opponent they face.

And thanks to results such as Bristol’s 2-0 win over Millwall on Tuesday, the latest predictions from Opta Analyst share that Mowbray’s men now have a 50.54 per cent chance of earning promotion.

This is a slight increase from before the other results when West Brom had a 50.50 per cent chance.

West Brom need to put everything into their last 11 Championship games

As mentioned, the Baggies have had a bit of a spotty season thus far and have both lost and drawn some games they should have probably taken all three points from.

In their last five second-tier outings, they’ve only lost one so there are at least signs of an improvement in form from the Black Country club.

And, with the likes of Josh Maja and even Daryl Dike gearing up to return to first-team action, there could be plenty of good things ahead for Mowbray and his men.

Indeed, the Baggies also have Adam Armstrong among their ranks so it’ll certainly be interesting to see who the former Birmingham boss chooses to lead his attacking line.

Only time will tell what the future has in store for West Brom but if they can put in performances like they did against Leeds last time out for the reason of the season, they should easily end up in one of the top six spots.
