Kyle Bartley stares daggers at West Brom teammate slammed by Tony Brown v QPR

West Brom are looking to return to winning ways as they currently play QPR at the Hawthorns.

The Baggies squeezed out an impressive draw against Leeds United last weekend, stopping Leeds’ five game winning streak.

This weekend, West Brom hosted QPR with the hope of returning to winning ways and maintain their pursuit of a Championship play-off spot.

Ahead of the game, West Brom sat sixth in the Championship table, level on points with Bristol City and Balckburn Rovers but with a superior goal difference. The West Midlands side are 4 points behind Coventry, who won their clash against Stoke earlier today.

West Brom lead at half-time

The hosts took the lead through loan signing Adam Armstrong. The 28-year-old converted a penalty after Jayson Molumby was fouled in the goal area.

Armstrong slotted the ball in the bottom left corner to give his side a one goal lead minutes before half-time.

Right-back Darnell Furlong was shown the red card with moments to go for the half-time whistle. Tony Mowbray’s side went into the half-time leading 1-0 but down to 10 men.

The Baggies enjoyed slight possession dominance with 53% in first half but had only one shot on target. On the other hand, the visitors had four shots but they failed to get a single shot on target.

In the first half, Molumby was guilty of conceding possession in the West Brom half as the 25-year-old attempted a poor pass. West Brom defender Kyle Bartley stared at the midfielder for the misplaced pass.

BBC WM Radio pundit and ex-West Brom forward Tony Brown was unimpressed with Molumby’s pass and found Bartley glaring at the 25-year-old.

He said on BBC Radio WM (3:06 P.M, 8th March): “It was a poor ball by Molumby and Kyle Bartley’s just given him the stare.”

West Brom in a close battle with Bristol and Blackburn

Going into game week 36, West Brom, Bristol City and Blackburn were only separated in the Championship table by goal difference. All three sides are battling for the final Championship play-off spot and are chasing Frank Lampard’s Coventry.

With Bristol and Blackburn losing at half-time and the Baggies leading, the West Midlands outfit will come out three points ahead should the results stay the same at full time.

West Brom will play Bristol and Coventry in April, two fixtures that could have huge ramifications in the race for the play-off spot.
