West Brom make new Darnell Furlong announcement
West Brom managed to hold on to a 1-0 win after having Darnell Furlong sent off against QPR at the weekend.
Tony Mowbray’s side showed excellent resilience and grit as they were successful in defending a one-goal lead for 45 minutes after being reduced to 10 men.
Right-back Furlong was shown a red card in stoppage time of the first half, leaving the Baggies a man down for the second half.
In what was a cagey first half, West Brom managed to take the lead via Adam Armstrong as midfielder Jayson Molumby was brought down in the QPR goal area.
Armstrong made no mistake as he netted his second goal for the Baggies since arriving at The Hawthorns in January on loan.

West Brom to appeal Furlong red card v QPR
In stoppage time of the first half, Furlong seemed to hit QPR winger Koki Saito in the process of running behind and was shown the red card for violent conduct.
At half-time, Mowbray had a task on his hands to manage the team with 10 men and protect the narrow lead.
The West Brom boss sacrificed Tom Fellows and brought on defender Mason Holgate to deputise in the right-back role.

The hosts endured 45 long and gruelling minutes with 10 men but managed to keep hold of their one-goal advantage and secure the three-points.
Furlong’s red card would have seen him suspended for the next three games for Albion’s next three games. However, the Baggies have decided to contest the decision of the Englishman’s sending-off.
The Championship club released a statement on X [10 March] that read: “We can confirm we have appealed against the red card shown to Darnell Furlong in the Championship win over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.”
West Brom chasing Championship play-off spot
The top three are only separated by two points at this stage. The situation is identical for clubs competing for the final two play-off spots in the Championship.
Coventry City, West Brom, Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers are separated by four points after 36 games.
Frank Lampard’s Coventry are fifth with 56 points. The Baggies have managed to maintain pressure on the Sky Blues as they sit in sixth position with 55 points.
Bristol City and Blackburn are on 53 and 52 points respectively, making it a tense battle for the final two play-off positions.
Any slip-ups from Mowbray’s side will see them out of the contention and then they’ll be playing catch-up to the other teams around them.
