Torbjorn Heggem has been recognised for his West Brom performances throughout the current Championship campaign.

West Brom remain on course to achieve promotion back to the Premier League, and Heggem has played a massive role in that period.

The Norwegian has featured in every league encounter this campaign and has impressed more often than not for West Brom

Only Tom Fellows has matched the number of appearances made by the defender, showcasing just how crucial he has been to their efforts this season.

While that form has aided the Baggies in their bid to maintain their promotion chances, it has also earned him recognition from elsewhere.

Heggem set for Norway duty

Given how important Heggem has been for Albion this season, it seems only right for him to earn international recognition.

Ahead of the March international break, West Brom have confirmed via their official site (11 March) that the defender will jet off with the Norwegian senior squad to partake in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

He isn’t the only Baggies star likely to be heading away, with Callum Styles also earning a call-up to the Hungarian national team.

Heggem has made three appearances at senior level for Norway and will be hopeful of adding to that over the next few weeks.

Tony Mowbray will be biting his nails at West Brom

While the call-ups for several players are certainly warranted, it also serves as a slight concern for Tony Mowbray, who will be hopeful that they return without injury.

With 10 games left in the Championship season, having a full squad will be paramount to any success, and Mowbray will be keen to see players return to have an impact on that, as opposed to losing even more.

On the other hand, it will serve as an excellent opportunity for Heggem to showcase just how good he can be away from The Hawthorns while gaining some vital experience at a higher level.
