West Brom fans react as starting lineup v Hull confirmed — ‘Very harsh’
Tony Mowbray has confirmed his starting eleven as West Brom face Hull City in the Championship on Saturday.
The Baggies welcome Ruben Selles’ side to The Hawthorns on 15 March with a view to leap frog Bristol City back into fifth place.
As a result, the Baggies have made three changes to the side that secured a hard-fought point against Burnley on Tuesday (11 March).
This has seen Callum Styles and Grady Diangana drop out of the side while Kyle Bartley and Mikey Johnston have come in to make up Mowbray’s latest 11.
West Brom fans left fuming by Diakite snub
Another change for the Baggies has seen Jayson Molumby return to the side and Diakite drop out despite a man of the match performance against Burnley.
This could prove to be a regret for Mowbray who was able to rely on the Malian in the heart of defence against one of the best sides in the division last time out.
A large majority of the fanbase in B71 are questioning why the 24-year-old would face the axe against the Tigers after such a positive showing.
West Brom need to win v Hull City
At this stage of the Championship season, every result matters and Albion can’t afford to make a habit of dropping points.
Given that the Tigers sit 18th in the table, while the Baggies sit in sixth, there is no true reason why three points shouldn’t be taken by the home side at The Hawthorns.
Position | Team | Points | Position | Team | Points
5 | Bristol City | 57 | 17 | Portsmouth | 42
6 | West Brom | 56 | 18 | Hull City | 18
7 | Coventry City | 56 | 19 | Stoke City | 40 |
There is no doubt that Selles’ side have quality which could cause problems and have been on a positive run of their own in recent weeks.
This could result in a stumbling block for Mowbray and Co. but it is the 61-year-old’s job to make sure that, that doesn’t happen.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the Black Country outfit perform and whether they can maintain their playoff place come this evening.
