Everton pair ‘called upon by Moyes’ in Tom Fellows pursuit at West Brom

West Brom did well to keep hold of Tom Fellows during the winter transfer window after facing intense interest from Everton.

The 21-year-old has had a great season in the Championship this term, contributing two goals and 11 assists in 37 league appearances.

However, the Baggies look set to have to put up with more interest in Fellows at the end of the campaign as we look towards the summer transfer window.

Everton retain Fellows interest

The Toffees were keen on gaining the services of Fellows during the winter window, although West Brom did not receive an offer around their valuation of £20million and therefore stood firm.

However, the 21-year-old’s form has not faltered throughout the campaign so far and the Baggies are set to receive further interest in Fellows in the summer transfer window.

According to Alan Nixon via his personal Patreon page (16 March), David Moyes has personally asked his scouts Alan Irvine and Charlie Adam to keep tabs on the Albion man between now and the end of the season.

Fellows is under contract at The Hawthorns until the summer of 2027, taking any immediate pressure off West Brom, but if the right offer comes in during the summer then it may force the Baggies’ hand.

West Brom cannot accept less for Fellows

West Brom will want to keep hold of Fellows if they can during the summer transfer window, but if the offers do come in again, you would expect Everton to have learnt from last time and be willing to up their bid.

Given Moyes has got scouts watching the 21-year-old, it seems he is a player who is really wanted on Merseyside and the manager will have him as one of the names at the top of the list during the summer window.

Albion sit sixth in the Championship table, meaning they are on track for a play-off finish as it stands, and promotion could prove to make a massive difference in the hope of keeping Fellows in the Black Country.

West Brom have a tough run of games as they look to gain a play-off spot.

However, if the Baggies stay in the second tier, they could well find themselves having to accept a deal for Fellows which would give them some money to reinvest into the team for next season.

If this is the choice made, though, West Brom have to make sure they don’t accept anything less than they feel Fellows is worth given how big of a player they would be losing.
