West Brom preview v Norwich City — Team news, head-to-head, prediction

West Brom will get back to fighting for a Championship play-offs spot as they face Norwich City at Carrow Road after the international break.

Tony Mowbray has had some time to rethink his strategy as the Albion dropped points against Hull City at home in the 1-1 draw.

West Brom are sixth in the Championship table but are level on points with seventh-place Bristol City, making a play-offs spot challenging to secure.

The West Midlands outfit need to be at their best for the final eight fixtures of the league campaign, starting with the Canaries away from home.

Norwich v West Brom preview

Mowbray will be hoping to turn the recent draws at the Albion into a victory when they travel to Carrow Road on 29 March.

The Black Country club are on a six-game unbeaten run in the Championship, but there have been four draws during that period.

While taking points off of Leeds United and Burnley is encouraging, West Brom need to do better in the crunch period of the season.

Norwich have their own aspirations, and Johannes Hoff Thorup’s team will be looking to close the eight-gap with the Baggies.

West Brom team news v Norwich

Semi Ajayi, Jed Wallace and Josh Maja are expected to return from their injuries soon, but the game against Norwich may be too early for them.

Darnell Furlong was sent off against QPR as the West Midlands outfit won 1-0 at the Hawthorns on 8 March.

While West Brom appealed the red card, they failed, and the defender will serve the last of his three-match ban against the Canaries.

Mowbray has experimented a bit with the starting lineup since taking over, and it will be interesting to see if he makes more changes for the trip to Carrow Road, with questions around Joe Wilddsmith.

Tom Fellows should return for the Albion after missing out on a place in England’s Under-21 national team squad.

West Brom head-to-head record v Norwich

West Brom has lost just once in their last five meetings with Norwich, winning twice and drawing the other two matches.

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-2 draw as Mason Holgate and Maja got on the scoresheet for the Baggies at The Hawthorns on 23 November 2024.

Norwich v West Brom predicted lineups

Norwich: Long, Fisher, Dyffy, Cordoba, Doyle, McLean, Sorensen, Marcondes, Crnac, Sargent, Sainz.

West Brom: Wildsmith, Price, Holgate, Bartley, Heggem, Molumby, Mowatt, Fellows, Price, Johnston, Armstrong.

West Brom predicted scoreline v Norwich

Mowbray has done a few experiments with his team in recent matches but should go back to the winning formula at Carrow Road.

A win over Norwich will help the Baggies take one step forward in their bid to secure a play-offs spot, with Thorup’s team already considerably behind.

The Black Country club have shown defensive frailty of late, but the English manager will undoubtedly look to solve the issues at the back and come away with a narrow 1-0 win against the Canaries.
