Reyes Cleary sends message as season-ending surgery now confirmed
Reyes Cleary has endured a complex career at West Brom and is currently on loan at Hartlepool.
The 20-year-old started the season on loan with Walsall but struggled to get any game time in a side that were rampaging through the rest of League Two.
Cleary has struggled to break through in recent years at The Hawthorns, even suggesting he was leaving for good before signing a new deal back in 2022.

Cleary sends message after injury blow
Cleary has improved since he arrived at Hartlepool and has made 13 appearances, contributing three goals and two assists.
Hartlepool currently sit 13th in the National League, and while a last dash for a play-off finish looks unlikely, the league can always offer surprises.
If his side are going to achieve that, though, they will need everyone to be at the top of their game, including Cleary, who will be eager to continue the strong form he has shown so far.
England under-19 teammate Omari Kellyman is not so lucky, though, as his season is over after suffering a hamstring injury.
After undergoing surgery, the Chelsea man posted on Instagram to share that he is ready to embark on the road to recovery. Cleary showed his support by commenting three love heart emojis on the post.
West Brom ready for play-off push
As it stands, the Baggies find themselves in a fairly decent position as they sit sixth in the Championship table.
However, they are level on points with Bristol City in seventh and just three clear of Middlesbrough in eighth, meaning it will not be an easy ride to a play-off spot.
Team | Position | Points |
West Brom | 6 | 57 |
Bristol City | 7 | 57 |
Middlesborough | 8 | 54 |
Tony Mowbray’s men are unbeaten in six games on the bounce now, though, so, providing the international break hasn’t disrupted their flow, they will be eager to get back to domestic action against Norwich City.
The Baggies do have some tough games ahead of them, so the squad will have to keep their standards high to get the finish they want.
If they were to finish in the top six, a place in the Premier League would then be at stake, which is motivation for everyone in the squad to prove themselves to Mowbray now.
Cleary is out of contract at the end of this season, and while his future could depend on West Brom’s fate, it doesn’t feel too likely that they will look to extend his deal at this stage.
