West Brom predicted XI v Norwich: Mowbray axes Karlan Grant in two changes

Tony Mowbray looks set to make changes to his side as West Brom travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City this weekend.

The Albion are back in action in Norfolk on Saturday (29 March) as they look to solidify their bid for a top-six spot in the Championship.

West Brom have dealt with injuries in the squad this season and Saturday is no different, though in some areas Mowbray is spoilt for choice.

Mowbray may drop Karlan Grant v Norwich

Mowbray has instilled a more brazen style of play to his West Brom side since returning to The Hawthorns.

This was demonstrated late on in the January transfer window with numerous attacking players arriving in the building.

As a result, the existing Baggies forwards have found game time more of a battle to achieve, with the likes of Tom Fellows and Mikey Johnston starting fewer matches.

Karlan Grant could be one of two players dropped for the trip to Carrow Road, with Johnston brought over to the left flank and Fellows given a chance to reclaim his starting berth.

Adam Armstrong appears to be Mowbray’s tried and tested option to spearhead the attack despite an inconsistent run since signing; he should once again lead the line. Alex Mowatt and Jayson Molumby will remain at the centre of the line-up.

The other change could come further back on the left-hand side, depending on Callum Styles’ fitness. Operating at left-wing-back with a superb display against Burnley, Styles missed the draw with Hull City (15 March) through injury and did not travel with the Hungarian national side for their camp this week.

Should he be fit to return, he is likely to replace John Swift, who deputised against Hull after a performance at Burnley which included his sumptuous free-kick strike.

At the back, Darnell Furlong serves the final match of his suspension and will consequently be absent, meaning an unchanged back three of Kyle Bartley, Torbjorn Heggem and Mason Holgate should start, with Joe Wildsmith in goal. Isaac Price could again fill in out on the right in a wing-back role.

West Brom need to nip draw habit in the bud

West Brom are now unbeaten in six but have reverted to type with how they fared under Carlos Corberan before Christmas.

They have drawn three of their last four games 1-1, accumulating the latest league-high total of 18 draws from their 38 games.

The top-six race is well and truly on

Albion remain inside the top six but only on goal difference to Bristol City, Norwich’s last opponents to whom the Canaries fell victim.
