Jed Wallace hits out at EFL expert as West Brom robbed – ‘Justice for Heggem’
West Brom are once again set for a play-off spot in the Championship, but they have not received many plaudits for their current position.
The Baggies lost manager Carlos Corberan mid-way through the season, but they are still gunning to finish in the top six.
Tony Mowbray’s side are sixth in the Championship heading into the final eight games of the season, and there have been some impressive performers, but they have not received the recognition they deserve.
Jed Wallace certainly seems to think so, and he has now claimed that one of his teammates should be recognised as one of the best in the Championship.

Wallace annoyed as Torbjorn Heggem snubbed
EFL expert Ali Maxwell recently shared his Championship team of the season on X, if his selections were limited to one player per club.
Despite West Brom’s position, he did not select any Baggies players in his side, and this drew ire from Wallace.
Wallace responded, claiming that his side were “robbed,” and that Torbjorn Heggem deserved a place in the side.
Stat | Heggem |
Appearances | 38 |
Goals | 1 |
Assists | 2 |
Yellow Cards | 3 |
Heggem has started every single game of the Championship season for West Brom, and as one of the most consistent figures in the side, perhaps he deserves a spot in the team.

Heggem has been sensational at West Brom
The rules for this hypothetical team were that only one player could be selected from each team, narrowing the selections down.
Millwall’s Japhet Tanganga and QPR’s Ronnie Edwards were chosen at centre-back, whilst Luton Town’s Alfie Doughty was placed at left-back.
With Heggem consistently appearing in both positions, many would argue he is deserving of a place. West Brom are higher in the table and have conceded fewer goals than all of the other defenders’ sides.
Wallace, as West Brom captain, clearly seems to think Heggem deserves his place, and many Baggies fans would agree.
