West Brom v Sunderland result predicted by supercomputer
West Brom return to championship action this weekend, with a home encounter against promotion rivals Sunderland.
It has been somewhat of a mixed campaign for Tony Mowbray’s side, though they remain in the hunt for a place back in the Premier League at the end of the season.
West Brom’s recent 1-0 defeat to Norwich City marked their third game without a win, following draws against Burnley and Hull City.
If a playoff spot is to be achieved, West Brom need to find consistency in their performances, starting with this weekend’s clash against Sunderland.

Mowbray can get one over his former side
Mowbray is no stranger to the quality possessed by Sunderland, having guided them to the playoffs in their first season back in the Championship.
However, time has moved on, and his task is to now repeat that success with West Brom this season, with the latest Opta supercomputer predictions forecasting a return to winning ways for the Baggies.
Championship | W | D | L | P |
West Brom | 13 | 18 | 8 | 57 |
West Brom have been awarded a 45.5 per cent chance of taking all three points against the Black Cats, while the visitors have just a 27.6 per cent chance of a win.
A failure to win could see the Baggies drop out of the top six positions in the Championship, while a win would go a long way to cementing their spot in the playoffs with just seven games remaining in the season.

West Brom need to find some consistency
When West Brom are at their best, the sky is the limit, but throughout the season they have failed to replicate those displays on a regular basis.
Especially at this stage in the season form and consistency can be keyed to any chances of achieving promotion, and Mowbray needs to find a way to do that.
While the top two spot is off the cards, momentum can often give teams that extra 10 per cent in the playoffs which can prove to be the difference over 90 minutes.
Sunderland will be well aware of the need for them to continue their form, setting up for what should be an exciting encounter at The Hawthorns.
