Shilen Patel writes to West Brom shareholders with new offer after £10m+ reveal

West Brom are pushing for the Premier League at a time when losses continue to rise at The Hawthorns.

Shilen Patel’s aims are coming at a price though and the latest accounts show that West Brom have seen their losses triple.

The Albion currently sit sixth in the Championship, with Tony Mowbray pushing to seal a playoff finish with the aim of going one better than last season.

The Championship is tight.

Bikul Football are trying to reduce the debt in the Black Country club, and they are converting interest-free loans of £10,227,000 to the Baggies to equity, according to Lewis Cox.

The journalist states that Patel has made an offer to buy shares at a set price, but for minority shareholders, there is also the option to retain or buy more.

The minority shareholders were written to by the chairman with an offer per share to be purchased or sold priced at £1210.58.

West Brom planning for a brighter future

The race for promotion from the Championship always proves to be a tight one, and that looks to be no different this season in terms of both the automatic places and the play-offs.

However, if Mowbray can see his men to a top-six finish, then there is no reason why his side can’t go all the way in the play-offs either.

With that in mind, it’s positive to see the ownership looking towards the future and attempting to make the right moves for development now to support them when they reach the levels they want to be at.

1-0 loss against Norwich City on Saturday was not enough to knock Albion from their play-off spot, but it certainly serves as a reminder that standards cannot drop, with things so tight in the Championship.

A clash with Sunderland up next is not an easy task for the Baggies and if the results don’t go their way, they could lose their position in the top six for now.
